Trump Considers Providing Mothers With a $5K “Baby Bonus” to Incentivize U.S. Citizens to get Married and Have Children
New York Post: The Trump Administration has been mulling ways to get more Americans married and having kids — including a $5,000 “baby bonus” for every new mom after delivery. White House officials have recently been brainstorming plans to tackle the declining birth and marriage rates — and push more Americans toward the traditional family values of Trump and his allies. Policy experts and advocates for growing the birth rate have been meeting with White House aides to come up with plans to convince more women to have babies. Birth rates in the US have long been slipping, hitting a new low in 2023 with just under 3.6 million babies born that year. That’s about 76,000 less than 2022 and the lowest one-year tally since 1979 ( New York Post). Collin Rugg: In addition to the $5000 baby bonus, the administration is considering reserving 30% of Fulbright Program scholarships for married applicants or those who have children. US birth rates have been declining for years, with 2023 seeing a record low of just 55 births for every 1000 women ( X).

Secretary of State Marco Rubio Announces Massive Change to State Department
Townhall: In another major shakeup within the Trump administration, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a sweeping reorganization of the State Department, aiming to cut over 700 positions and eliminate 132 of its 734 bureaus—a 15 percent reduction in personnel. This overhaul seeks to refocus the department on core national interests and regional diplomacy, moving away from promoting liberal ideologies. Rubio criticized certain offices for advancing left-wing agendas at taxpayer expense. The restructuring also hints at reducing or closing overseas missions and folding liberal values initiatives into regional bureaus… Although no layoffs are expected immediately, a senior State Department official indicated that job losses are likely. The official described Rubio’s plans as a “roadmap,” with Undersecretaries of State tasked to create implementation plans within 30 days, aiming for leadership to carry out the changes by July 1. The objective is to reorganize the State Department to align with the Trump administration’s agenda ( Townhall). Secretary Marco Rubio: Today is the day. Under POTUS’ leadership and at my direction, we are reversing decades of bloat and bureaucracy at the State Department. These sweeping changes will empower our talented diplomats to put America and Americans first ( X).

Pete Hegseth Delivers Message to Leakers in Pentagon
Townhall: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday sent a clear message to leakers in the Pentagon. He suggested that those who gave internal information to the media could be subject to prosecution. Hegseth’s comments came during a wide-ranging interview on “Fox and Friends” with host Brian Kilmeade. During the conversation, Hegseth discussed the seeming flood of leaks coming from the Pentagon, which Democrats and the media have used against him and President Donald Trump. Hegseth defended his leadership and condemned the leaks as efforts to sabotage the Trump administration’s agenda. He stressed that leaked messages shared via messaging app Signal were “informal, unclassified coordinations for media coordination and other things” ( Townhall). Nick Sortor: Karoline Leavitt confirms President Trump is STANDING BY Pete Hegseth, despite the fake news’ efforts to oust him. “The President stands strongly behind Secretary Hegseth, who is doing a phenomenal job leading the Pentagon” ( X).

Wife of Disgraced Former Sen. Bob Menendez Also Found Guilty in Bribery Scandal
They still claim innocence. Townhall: Nadine Menendez, the wife of former Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was found guilty of collaborating with her husband to accept bribes from businessmen seeking to gain favors to help with their operations and legal troubles. This comes after Bob Menendez was sentenced to 11 years in prison for the scandal, which ended his political career. The prosecution convinced the jury that Nadine and Bob were partners in the bribery scam. The FBI raided their home in 2022 and found a Mt. Everest of evidence, including $150,000 in gold bars and about $480,000 in cash stuffed in boots, shoeboxes, and elsewhere. They also had a Mercedes-Benz given to them by one of the businessmen ( Townhall).

Minnesota State Employee Walks After Admitting to Vandalizing Many Teslas
Of course, because he is a democrat, he gets a slap on the wrist. Daily Wire: A Minnesota state fiscal policy analyst who reportedly admitted to vandalizing six Teslas, causing a reputed $21,000 in damages, will not be charged with criminal conduct by the local Democrat county attorney. Dylan Bryan Adams, 33, who describes himself as a fiscal policy analyst for the state Department of Human Services on social media, was caught on video keying different Teslas in the Minneapolis area. One owner of a victimized Tesla told the Minnesota Star Tribune that the marks on her car appeared to be a failed attempt to carve a swastika. “Our main priorities are to secure restitution for the victims and hold Mr. Adams accountable,” Hennepin County Attorney’s Office spokesman Daniel Borgertpoepping stated. “As a result, we will file for pre-charge diversion to best facilitate both of those goals. This is an approach taken in many property crime cases and helps to ensure the individual keeps their job and can pay restitution, as well as reducing the likelihood of repeat offenses. Criminal prosecution remains a possibility should unlawful behavior continue” ( Daily Wire). National Review: If the vandalism continues, the County Attorney’s office would not rule out charges. Progressive County Attorney Mary Moriarty took office in 2023 and has faced strong criticism for her soft-on-crime approach. On several occasions, Moriarty has shown leniency to violent criminals, including suspects charged with murder and sexual assault, leading to disputes with prosecutors and outrage among victims’ families. The Minneapolis Police Department blasted the county attorney’s office for its refusal to pursue charges against the Tesla vandal, making it the latest clash between police and the county’s lax prosecutor ( National Review).

Judge in New York Halts Mayor Eric Adams’ Plan to Allow ICE Agents to Operate on Rikers Island
Associated Press: A New York judge has ordered city officials to temporarily halt a plan allowing federal immigration agents to operate within the Rikers Island jail complex ahead of a hearing later this week. In a written order Monday, Judge Mary Rosado barred the city from “taking any steps toward negotiating, signing, or implementing any Memorandum of Understanding with the federal government” before an April 25 hearing in a suit challenging the plan. That hearing will focus on a lawsuit brought last week by the New York City Council against Mayor Eric Adams that seeks to block his recent executive order permitting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies to maintain office space at the jail complex. The suit accuses Adams, a Democrat, of entering into a “corrupt quid pro quo bargain” with the Trump administration in exchange for the Justice Department dropping criminal charges against him ( Associated Press). Just the News: ICE agents previously had a presence at the Rikers Island facility, which is on a hard-to-reach island in the East River. But they were effectively banned from operating there in 2014 under New York City’s sanctuary laws limiting cooperation with immigration enforcement ( Just the News).

Supreme Court Sides with Illegal Immigrants Rather Than Americans
Newsweek: In a narrow 5-4 decision on Tuesday, the Supreme Court ruled that immigrants who agree to leave the U.S. voluntarily are entitled to deadline flexibility when the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday ( Newsweek). PJ Media: Because obviously illegal aliens who should never have been here to begin with deserve all the consideration in the world when authorities are kicking them out in line with the law, federal orders, and the will of We the People ( PJ Media). Attorney Mike Davis: When will the 7 self-appointed Supreme Court generals and their ACLU legal advisors permit the commander-in-chief to perform his most crucial constitutional duty of deporting the invading Tren de Aragua foreign terrorists and MS-13 gang bangers ( X)?

Department of Education Announces Trump Will Resume Student Loan Payments Beginning May 5th
CNN: The Department of Education announced on Monday that it will restart collecting federal student loans in default on May 5, ending a pandemic-era pause that began roughly five years ago. More than 5 million borrowers are in default, the department said in a news release. Federal student loans go into default after 270 days without payment. “American taxpayers will no longer be forced to serve as collateral for irresponsible student loan policies,” Education Secretary Linda McMahon said in a statement. “The Biden Administration misled borrowers: the executive branch does not have the constitutional authority to wipe debt away, nor do the loan balances simply disappear” ( CNN). Benny Johnson: President Trump will resume collection of outstanding and defaulted student loan payments starting May 5th, 2025. Taxpayers who never went to college will no longer have to pay for the loans of those who did ( X).

Latest Leftist Narrative on Southern Border Falls Apart
Guy Benson: Over the last few days, leftists on social media got spun up over an alleged immigration-related abuse by the Trump administration, screaming about an American citizen being wrongfully detained. I’ll say this: If an actual citizen of the United States had indeed been victimized by a wrongful immigration detention, that would represent solid grounds for concern and criticism. It would certainly be more politically sound than aggressively going to bat for, say, an illegal immigrant who is also a credibly accused wife beater and a twice-adjudicated gang member. But as it turns out, based on the available evidence, this latest outrage was bogus. If you search the name ‘Jose Hermosillo,’ numerous headlines will pop up about a 19-year-old US citizen whose family said he was unjustly imprisoned for ten days by authorities. How could such a thing happen? Well, this would be how, per official documents ( Townhall). Julio Rosas: Here is a copy of the sworn statement signed by Jose Hermosillo. During questioning, which was done in Spanish, Hermosillo stated he: Was born in Mexico. Was not a U.S. citizen. Crossed the border illegally via the desert. Wanted work. Was in the U.S. illegally ( X). Homeland Security: Days later, his family presented documents showing proof of U.S. citizenship. The charges were dismissed and he was released. Mr. Hermosillo’s arrest and detention were a direct result of his own actions and statements ( X).
