Summer of Prevention
Alcohol prevention doesn't take a summer vacation. This summer prevention may look a little different but there are actions you can take to prevent and reduce youth alcohol use. The APRC has created a Prevention Post-COVID 19 infographic with suggestions on adjusting to our new normal.

The Strategic Prevention Framework begins with Assessment. Below is a video to help guide you through the first step. The APRC has also created a Strategic Prevention Framework Resource Guide with steps to assist you and your coalition through the entire process. If you would like further assistance, please contact Jody Heavilin at 217-836-4290 or [email protected].

Strategy & Policy Selection
A Strategic Prevention Framework assessment produces a great deal of valuable information for your community. An assessment uncovers substance use rates as well as data on factors that contribute to use. Why is it important to understand contributing factor data? This is the data that points you in the directions of strategy and policy selection. The APRC has developed a strategy and policy selection infographic to help guide your selection process. The Alcohol Policy Resource Center at Prevention First can assist you in analyzing your data, selecting strategies, and building capacity on alcohol policy and law enforcement strategies.
