I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:
Easter
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. As we all traverse the challenges and stressors of our daily lives, it’s important to take the time out of our busy schedules to be with and enjoy the company of our family, friends, and loved ones.
To my fellow Christians, let us take this opportunity to celebrate the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ, and rejoice in the grace of his sacrifice.
Tele-Town Hall
On April 16th, I had the pleasure of checking in with you all in the district to give updates from Congress and to hear about the issues most important to you. We addressed key issues like border security and election integrity and discussed the latest efforts to rein in government spending and increase transparency.
I would like to thank everyone for attending and bringing your thoughts and concerns forward. Hearing from you all is important to me, and together, we can work towards protecting and preserving the United States of America for our children and grandchildren. I look forward to meeting with you all again soon.

“Senators, Don’t Fall For Hillary Clinton’s Desperate Lies About The SAVE Act”
On April 16th, The Federalist published my op-ed in which I debunk the left’s false claims regarding the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, discuss the need for this legislation, and expand on next steps for ensuring election integrity.
Contrary to what the left would like everyone to believe, Americans have expressed their desire for legislation that addresses the issues the SAVE act has set out to remedy. According to a Rasmussen poll, American voters overwhelmingly find it important to prevent non-citizens from voting in American elections, “and nearly two-thirds support legislation to require proof of citizenship for voting.” The survey also found that of the 75% of Americans who believe it is important to prevent illegal immigrants from voting in U.S. elections, 51% say the issue is “very important” to them.
Also in the op-ed, I address wild accusations, such as those comparing the SAVE act to modern-day poll taxes, false-claims about married-women being prohibited from voting, and the idea that the bill is a response to a problem that doesn’t exist.

Ending Birthright Citizenship
Granting U.S. citizenship to every child born to illegal aliens is bad policy - even the late Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid agreed that “no sane country” would have this policy. Illegal aliens and legal temporary residents do not owe complete, direct, and immediate allegiance to the U.S. and therefore their children are not citizens by birthright under the 14th Amendment.
I am proud to be a leader in Congress on this issue as well as be a co-sponsor of Rep. Brian Babin’s legislation H.R. 569, the Birthright Citizenship Act, which will build on President Trump’s executive order and codify these critical reforms into law.

Maryland Man Deported
Last week, the media was in attack mode against the Trump administration’s action to remove Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant, from his living situation in Maryland.
To cut through all the noise, here are the facts:
1) Garcia was illegally present in the U.S. – even when an immigration judge gave him a withholding from removal.
2) Garcia did go through the process -- 3 immigration hearings, one of which established an MS-13 affiliation, the other of which upheld it, and the third of which denied his asylum & CAT claims & subjected him to deportation.
3) Garcia was a criminal -- Garcia’s wife alleges he was a violent domestic violence offender. He was also found with drugs and rolls of cash while hanging out with other MS-13 members.
Lastly, one might ask, where is the due process for those killed by the hand of violent MS-13 gang members -- Maryland Angel Mom Tammy Nobles, whose daughter Kayla Hamilton was murdered by an MS-13 gang member?
Whether Kilmar Abrego Garcia is in El Salvador or a detention facility in the U.S., he should be off American streets.
San Antonio Migrant Center
Last week, in the district, I stopped by a San Antonio Migrant Resource Center. This spot was a magnet for gang and cartel activity, and it is now silent due to the border policies of President Trump. This is great, but we must pass permanent law changes to make sure we never go back to the border numbers we saw in 2021 through 2024.
Distinguished Speaker Series at UT Austin
I was honored to take part in a distinguished speaker series at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin where I discussed current dynamics in Congress, including budget and tax policy. Thank you so much to Prof. Evan Smith and the school for having me.
Crabapple Fire Department Visit
Last month, fires devastated many areas of the beautiful hill country. Last week, I visited with the Crabapple Fire Department to discuss the impact and the next steps of recovery. I appreciate ALL our first responders that answered the call to service to help our neighbors and to get the fire 100% contained.
