SOPHIE RICHARDSON
China Director, Human Rights Watch

The importance and challenges of researching in Tibet for one of the leading
global human rights organizations

One of the worst human rights crises in the world today is taking place inside Tibet.
But because the Chinese government has cut Tibet off from the outside world, it’s difficult
to gather information about China’s human rights violations against the Tibetan people.

In this hour-long conversation with ICT, Sophie Richardson, the China director of
Human Rights Watch, will discuss the importance and challenges of researching in Tibet
for one of the leading global human rights organizations.
