Hi james,
At the drop of a hat, tens of thousands of dedicated public service workers had their jobs and lives disrupted by DOGE's reckless attempt to dismantle the federal government.
TThese workers are smart, skilled, and deeply committed to public service. They want nothing more than to keep doing what they do best—serving their communities and helping people. Civic Match, a new nonprofit initiative from Work for America, is stepping in to make that possible by connecting laid-off federal workers to local government jobs in 155 cities across 45 states.
Federal workers looking for new local government job opportunities can apply directly for Civic Match’s job matching support here. Over 8,000 workers have already found new employment!
Find your new job today!
A new survey from Civic Match shows that federal workers, despite job insecurity and ongoing fear of layoffs, really want to stay in public service. 54% of federal workers said they are open to relocating for the right job, and among those, 77% are willing to move to small or mid-sized cities, underscoring their flexibility and dedication. Up to 60% of respondents said they would be willing to work for a mayor or governor from the opposing political party.
Luckily, there are TONS of opportunities available across the country, and in these uncertain times, we need our public servants more than ever.
Civic Match’s mission is to help keep great people in public service, and shine a spotlight on the immediate opportunity governors and mayors have to recruit new amazing talent during this crisis. Take action!
Thanks for all you do,
The Civic Match team
