Dear Friend,

In the coming days, we will find out who in Washington is really serious about fixing the injustice made plain by George Floyd’s tragic killing.

Democratic and Republican elected officials have peacefully marched, they’ve shared in and acknowledged the pain so many feel and they have recognized words must turn into action.

So let’s be clear about the action required. We need bipartisan legislation that helps ensure all Americans – and particularly black Americans – receive the “equal protection under the law”  promised by the 14th Amendment in our Constitution.

Republicans have the majority in the U.S. Senate. Democrats have it in the House. So either there will be bipartisan reform or there will be no reform at all until at least January 2021.

That’s why we want you to send a simple and urgent message to your member of Congress, and ask your friends and family to do the same:

“I stand for justice for George Floyd. I stand for a bipartisan bill to reform criminal justice and policing practices in America.”

Bipartisan action is action that stands the test of time. It is what No Labels has always been about and it is what we must demand from our elected leaders each day and every day until they pass legislation that delivers “equal protection under the law” for every American.
