Hey, there – it’s Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs reaching out to you for the first time this year because yesterday, Donald Trump endorsed BOTH my opponents in our race.

Arizona is at a turning point. With Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their MAGA cronies working hard to roll back our rights – and National Republicans already gearing up to pour millions in to flip this seat red – we have to strengthen our efforts now to stop them.

John, I know firsthand what it takes to win tough races. In 2022, I won by just 0.7% in a state that Trump won in both 2016 and 2024 by more than four points. This race is set to be one of the most competitive on the map next year – and Cook Political Report already has it as a toss up.

Donald Trump endorsed BOTH of my opponents yesterday, so no matter what, we’ll face an opponent backed by Trump.

For the past four years, I have had one goal in mind: Building an Arizona that works for everyone. And while it hasn’t been easy with the Republican super-majority in my state, I’ve expanded health care access, made housing more affordable, and created more than 100,000 jobs. I've also fought to protect reproductive rights, expand contraception access, and signed legislation to repeal the state’s Civil War-era total abortion ban. And last November, Arizona enshrined the right to abortion in our state constitution.

But all of this progress is in jeopardy.

There are already two extreme Republicans in the race – both backed by Donald Trump. They support dismantling health care for hundreds of thousands of Arizonans and back extreme abortion restrictions that would criminalize doctors. One even wants to defund public schools. These candidates are more interested in making Donald Trump proud than working to make Arizona a place where working families thrive. Trump may think they can win in Arizona, but we’re going to prove him wrong.
