I was raised by parents who came to the United States from Mexico in search of the American Dream. They raised me to believe that with hard work, perseverance, and by caring for others, anything was possible. That belief led me to become the first in my family to graduate from college and then medical school.

I worked as a pediatrician in Adams County and saw first hand how families in my community were struggling with rising health care and drug costs, limited job opportunities, and high costs of living. The American Dream that my parents worked so hard to achieve was slipping away for too many Coloradans.

So, I took my fight to the state legislature and then to Congress. I took on big drug companies, fought special interests, and helped pass a first-in-the-nation cap on the price of insulin.

In 2024, I came up just 2,449 votes short against Gabe Evans in one of the closest House races in the country. Now, Gabe Evans has gone all-in on Trump and MAGA extremism – making life harder for working families in Colorado, all while giving handouts to billionaires.

My parents taught me to always finish what I started. That’s why I’m running to win back CO-08. I’m determined to continue my work in Congress to protect health care and fight for hard working Coloradans.
