Earth Day is an annual global event celebrated on April 22nd to raise awareness about environmental protection and to demonstrate support for environmental movements. It's a day to celebrate the Earth and take action to protect it for future generations.
Thanks to our incredible local environmental organizations, you don't have to look very far to be part of the movement.
We invite you to take a moment today to get to know some of these organizations - to learn about their missions, to connect with them on social media, to send them a "thank you" message, and if you're able, to support them financially. One way to do this is to open the Nonprofit Directory, click the "Search by Impact" field, and select "Environment" from the dropdown menu to meet local nonprofits providing environmental conservation, education, accessibility, and advocacy here in Arlington and the region.
Whether it's removing trash from Four Mile Run, creating opportunities for Arlington Public School students to have hands-on environmental lessons, or teaching energy efficiency and water conservation practices, these organizations are helping build a more sustainable and beautiful Arlington for all of us.
