Last week, a gunman opened fire at Florida State University — and for 28 students on campus, it wasn’t the first time they’d lived this nightmare.
These students were part of the Parkland community in 2018. They remember what it felt like to lose classmates. To march. To fight for the law that raised the minimum age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21 in Florida.
Now, they’re watching that law come under threat — while surviving another mass shooting at their college.
Yesterday, they released a public letter to Governor Ron DeSantis with one clear message: “Your silence is not neutral.”
They’re calling on the governor to:
✔️ Oppose lowering the gun purchase age back down to 18
✔️ Reject campus carry
✔️ Strengthen Florida’s safe storage law
✔️ Fund mental health services on college campuses
