Today, U.S. bombs are once again falling on Gaza, and Israel has imposed a total blockade on humanitarian aid, starving a population reeling from 18 months of slaughter.
It’s hell on earth, paid for by Americans. And we refuse to turn away.
Common Dreams stands nearly alone among U.S. news outlets reporting regularly on Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza — both under the previous administration and the current one — raising up the voices of those calling for an end to the violence and condemning American support for what legal scholars, human rights groups, and historians have labeled genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Our commitment to peace, justice, and the rights of all people to live without their homes being dropped on their heads, children being ripped to shreds or starved, and hospitals being bombed is a hard line. This coverage is just one way we uphold our mission to defend the common good, and we take this commitment very seriously.
But this work, which is gut-wrenching to produce and which you will find in few other places, is only possible with support from readers like you. We don’t turn away. We refuse.
