Dear John,
It's no secret that across the country, higher education is under attack.
Politicians are pushing sweeping bans on DEI programs, censoring discussions of race, gender, and sexuality in the classroom, and threatening the academic freedom of students and educators alike. From book bans to restrictions on reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights, these coordinated efforts aim to silence dissent, erase marginalized voices, and reshape our campuses into places of fear rather than learning.
In this moment, student activism is more vital than ever—and college campuses remain critical battlegrounds in the fight for truth, justice, and human rights.
Our friends at Amnesty International USA & the ACLU have launched a campaign to help student activists pass campus-wide resolutions that support key civil liberties and human rights issues—especially in response to increasing state censorship, bans on DEI programs, anti-LGBTQ+ policies, and attacks on reproductive rights.

The toolkit includes:
* Sample student government resolution language
* Step by step instructions on how to pass a resolution
* Outreach strategies and talking points
* Resources detailing your rights as a student
Let us know if you’re thinking of launching a resolution campaign! We’d love to support and amplify your work!
In solidarity,
