Ritchie stands to win the primary & join Congress’s freshest progressive voices, or lose to one of the vilest “Democratic” candidates in recent memory

Hi Arena Community,

In October, we endorsed Ritchie Torres for Congress. We loved his progressive policies and his story about growing up in public housing in the Bronx and beating the odds to become the youngest elected official in NYC.

If he wins his race for US House, Ritchie will break barriers again by becoming the first openly gay Black and/or Latinx person in Congress.

Even though Ritchie is running for one of the bluest seats in the country, his pro-Trump, anti-choice, homophobic opponent, Rubén Díaz Sr., holds a two-point lead in a 12-way race that threatens to split the progressive vote.

Ritchie needs your help.

On June 23, Ritchie can win the New York primary and join Congress’s freshest progressive voices. Support Ritchie’s campaign and help us ensure that two weeks from now we celebrate a progressive victory at a time when progressive wins are both possible and desperately needed. ([link removed])

Ritchie first drew our attention because of his strong support for affordable housing. And during the pandemic and subsequent #BlackLivesMatter protests, he has distinguished himself as one of New York’s most vocal critics of police violence who is willing to take on executive power and back his position with legislative reform.

His strong legislative record on NYC City Council is one reason why he’s picked up endorsements from the Daily Kos, LGBTQ Victory Fund, Communications Workers of America, Human Rights Campaign, and more. It’s why Politico has called him “a rising star in the Democratic party.”

Whether Ritchie can make up the two-point difference between winning and losing depends on the strength of his voter contact program, digital ads, GOTV and more in the next two weeks -- which means your donation of $15 or more could give him the extra boost he needs to claim victory in this critical home stretch.
