Led 50+ Democrats in a Letter to President Trump Demanding Sgt. Freddy Gonzalez’s Webpage be Reinstated

I was proud to lead over 50 of my colleagues in demanding the Trump Administration reinstate Sgt. Freddy Gonzalez’s webpage after the administration shamefully removed him from the Naval History website. Their purge of women and minority servicemembers disrespects all our veterans!

San Benito’s own Freddy Fender was inducted into the National Recording Registry for his hit song, “Before the Next Tear Drop Falls.” Freddy Fender was an outstanding musician who left a legacy of excellence. It is wonderful to see Tejano music celebrated and honored at the highest levels.

Speaking out for South Texans: Protecting Social Security and Medicaid

Thousands of South Texans, including senior citizens, disabled workers, children, and struggling families, rely on Social Security or Medicaid to age with dignity, have enough to eat, or afford medicine and healthcare. I will always protect these critical lifeline programs to ensure vulnerable South Texans and Americans across the country are not left behind.
