A major diabetes prevention study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has been canceled, threatening decades-long research. This study looks at the long-term impacts of the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) and the links between type 2 diabetes and dementia, including the long-term effects of diabetes prevention on other health conditions like cancer, heart disease, stroke, nerve damage, kidney disease, and eye disease.
We can’t take any steps backward—too much is at stake. Your donation today will help us continue pushing forward, helping fund innovative research to stay the course and ensure researchers, advocates, and people living with diabetes don’t lose hope.
Together, let’s keep fighting to protect current and future diabetes research to make breakthroughs in diabetes treatment and prevention for millions of Americans.
