Peter Dutton won tonight’s debate. He exposed Labor’s big lies in this election.
Labor’s $600 billion figure for nuclear energy comes from the discredited “Smart Energy Council” – a Labor donor with a long history of political campaigns against the Coalition.
By contrast, modelling by independent energy experts, Frontier Economics, shows the Coalition’s balanced plan – including nuclear energy – will cost 44% less than Labor’s renewables-only plan, saving Australians up to $263 billion.
Peter Dutton also exposed Labor’s lies on health. Bulk billing was higher under the Liberals (88%, versus 77% under Labor).
Mr Albanese lies because Labor can’t defend its record.
Australia has had the biggest fall in disposable income (living standards) in the developed world.
And their recent budget revealed $1 trillion in debt and deficits forecast for the next ten years. This will mean higher debt, bills and taxes.
Tonight, Peter Dutton outlined the Liberals' plan – to provide cost of living relief, rebuild our economy, keep Australians safe and lead Australians through uncertain times.
We will provide immediate relief, with 25 cents per litre off petrol and tax relief of up to $1,200 for most Australians.
The Liberals will rebuild the economy by reining in Labor’s wasteful spending, fixing our energy system and backing our small businesses.
To restore the dream of home ownership, we will boost supply, ease demand (including restricting foreign investors) and assist first home buyers by making interest payments on mortgages tax deductible.
Tonight, Peter Dutton outlined his determination – and our plan – to combat organised crime groups and outlaw motorcycle gangs who are peddling drugs to our children.
And he demonstrated how he has the experience and the strength to keep our country safe and steer Australia through global uncertainty.
