Supporter, this Earth Day we're celebrating the incredible nature which call National Parks home.

As one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world, the UK's unique fauna is in decline. National Parks are often the last refuges for many species on the brink of being lost from the UK, but with only 6% of National Park land in England and Wales managed effectively for nature, more needs to be done to secure their future.

That's why we're fighting for wilder National Parks for all and seizing the opportunity National Marine Parks present to ensure species on land and sea can recover and spread more widely.

For 1 week only any donations made via the Big Give will be doubled at no extra cost to you. Will you help us reach our target of £20,000 for nature?

* Nationally cuckoo numbers have declined by 65% since the 1980s but they have been recorded in all 13 National Parks in England and Wales.
* Hen harriers are one of the rarest birds of prey in the UK with just 545 breeding pairs, but they have been recorded in all 13 National Parks.
* Nightingale numbers are thought to have declined by at least 50% but they are still found in eight of the National Parks.
* Curlews have seen a 48% fall in numbers across the UK but are recorded in all 13 National Parks.
* Duke of Burgundy butterfly numbers declined by 35% but they are present in four of the Parks.
* Now endangered, red squirrel numbers have declined by 37%, but there are good numbers in the Lake District, Northumberland and the Yorkshire Dales.

MAKING YOUR SUPPORT GO FURTHER
At Campaign for National Parks we work hard to challenge decision-makers and prioritise nature in National Parks. It's our role to speak up and ensure resources, funding and legal protections are not undermined and degraded but we need your support to continue our work.

Starting at midday on Earth Day, Tuesday 22 April, your donation to National Parks will be doubled, at no extra cost to you!
