John,
Donald Trump and Elon Musk have their sights set on a new target for major budget cuts and mass firings: The U.S. Postal Service.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's recent resignation has fueled Trump and Musk's dangerous plan to privatize the USPS and turn it over to Wall Street and Big Tech. Trump has already floated the idea of merging the Postal Service into the Commerce Department, and Musk has openly called for full-on privatization. Their vision? A postal system run for profit — not for people.
Postal workers and their unions are sounding the alarm, holding rallies across the country and chanting what should be obvious: “U.S. mail is not for sale.”
And they’re right. The USPS isn’t just a delivery service — it’s a public institution that 640,000 workers keep running every day. It’s a lifeline for veterans, seniors, rural Americans, small businesses, and millions of families who rely on it for affordable, dependable service — no matter their zip code or income.
Right now, there’s a way for Congress to step in and stop Trump and Musk from dismantling this beloved service: passing bipartisan resolutions H.R.70 and S.R.147 to block privatization efforts and keep the USPS in public hands.
More than 50 million rural Americans could be left disconnected from vital resources if this privatization scheme succeeds. And the Postal Service’s universal mission — to serve everyone, everywhere, at a fair price — could be lost for good.
Add your name to demand Congress pass H.R.70 and S.R.147 and protect the U.S. Postal Service from privatization.
This is our Postal Service — not a new business venture for Trump and Musk.
Let’s do this,
Democratic Values
