Hi,
It’s Pride month. And if there was ever a time to unite and resist — this is it.
LGBTQ people know the power of protest and the progress that can be made when we rise up … make ourselves heard … and loudly and proudly push back against hatred. The anti-Black violence and police brutality in our country are stark reminders of how far we have to go in order to achieve true equality for all.
You know, we can’t unite in person this Pride season in the usual ways, but we can recommit to fighting for equality and use our collective power to advocate against LGBTQ discrimination. We get our strength from YOU — so please, if you’re able to, become a Human Rights Campaign member during Pride month.
The HRC family is diverse, beautiful, compassionate and strong — and together, united for equality, we hold so much power. But it’s on all of us to put in the work for change.
Right now, we need to harness that power — YOUR power — to mobilize, organize and get involved before the 2020 elections. As President Obama reminded us last week: “If we want to bring about real change, then the choice isn’t between protest and politics. We have to do both.”
Turning out — in protest and at ballot boxes — is our best shot at advancing equality for the LGBTQ community, for people of color, for women, for immigrants and for every other marginalized community suffering today.
Looking to make an immediate impact? You can help by becoming a member of HRC.
This Pride month, we must continue to unite for equality like never before — remember the hills we have climbed and the progress we have made — and reenergize ourselves for the fight we’re facing now, and the ones ahead this November.
I am with you. HRC is with you. We’re in this together — if you’re able, please donate. Change can be ours but we have to demand it.
Thank you,
