55 years ago, on April 22, millions of people gathered across this country to demand clean air and clean water in our communities. The modern environmental movement was born, and Earth Day grew into a global institution.

On this Earth Day, in Washington, D.C., powerful forces want to take us back to a time when cities were shrouded in smog that required expensive medical visits, rivers caught on fire, and unregulated toxic pollution created cancer clusters nationwide – all in the name of more profit for greedy billionaires. The Trump administration is in the process of gutting the Environmental Protection Agency, setting aside more than 30 national environmental laws like the Clean Air Act, attacking the Endangered Species Act, opening our national forests to clear-cutting, allowing commercial fishing in marine national monuments, and more.
Washington Conservation Action says, “NO” to anyone who tries to undo the environmental progress we’ve advocated for together.
