John,
Without rights, we are subjects of an authoritarian regime, not citizens of a democracy. We have the right to free speech; we have the right to protection against unreasonable search and seizure; we have the right against cruel and unusual punishment.
Yet the Trump administration has sent plainclothes ICE agents, wearing masks and operating without warning, to kidnap international students and permanent U.S. residents off the streets and detain them for expressing political views that Trump doesn’t like.
If one person’s rights can be violated with impunity like this, then we are all at risk. Trump has overstepped his authority — we need to push back.
Take action now and tell Congress: Demand the release of detained students and call on ICE to testify!
Send a letter to demand that Congress:
- Call the heads of DHS, ICE, and CBP to testify before Congress.
- Launch an investigation into politically motivated arrests and visa revocations.
- Demand the release of students and activists being held for political reasons.

Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk, and others have become victims of illegal, unjust, and unacceptable abuses of power. The rule of law, inconvenient to the MAGA administration's plans, has been thrown out as they secretly detain and deport activists in an alarming escalation of political repression.
Federal courts are working to stop these unconstitutional actions, but the Trump administration continues terrorizing communities while fighting in court and threatening to impeach judges who stand up to them.
One single letter can’t stop this dangerous turn, but letters from thousands of people reading this can push Congress to act with the urgency this moment deserves.
Join us in demanding that Congress take immediate action to stop Trump’s secret police and release their political prisoners →
