They haven’t, John. In fact, Gianforte’s property tax bill on his privately-owned mansion saw a 7% decrease last year, all thanks to shady use of a tax loophole.

Listen, there’s no other state that values agriculture quite like Montana. That’s why we created a tax system decades ago to encourage farming and ranching, allowing agricultural properties to pay a much lower effective rate.

But today, ultra-wealthy millionaires are taking advantage of that provision, claiming that their million-dollar lakefront mansions are used for “agriculture.”

Thanks to this loophole, Montana millionaires, including Governor Gianforte, are paying thousands of dollars less than they should be, effectively forcing regular Montana families to pay more and make up the difference!
