The first few weeks of life are a vulnerable time for kittens. Your gift makes an impact far beyond kitten season. It’s an investment in building a better future for cats and kittens everywhere and throughout the year. Instead of impounding young kittens in shelters, our Wait Until 8® program helps shelters equip community members with Kitten Care Kits, instructions, and supplies to care for kittens at home until they’re around 8 weeks old, when they can be spayed or neutered and adopted. We provide direct care that saves lives. Through grants for veterinary services for cats and kittens, as well as educational initiatives like Leave Them Be®, we show people how to care for kittens and their mothers already thriving outdoors. Beat the Heat®, which educates communities on the importance of spay and neuter in the colder months to ensure fewer kittens are born when spring—and kitten season—rolls around.
Cats can give birth to kittens when they are as young as four months of age—and kitten season is the time of year most kittens are born, coinciding with the warm weather. That means NOW is the most critical time to act and educate to save cats’ and kittens’ lives. There are just nine more days left to have your donation doubled up to our $100,000 goal to protect kittens this season—so don’t wait. Will you please rush $50 (it’ll become $100!) or more now to maximize your impact for neonatal kittens at risk this spring and summer? Until April 30, your double-matched gift will go twice as far in our fight to prevent this kitten season from becoming another killing season.
