I am honored and humbled to be the official Democratic candidate for Congress in Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District. I never take a single election or vote for granted, and am so honored to have had your support. 

While this victory is rewarding, it is very difficult to celebrate amidst the struggles of the past several weeks. Since the death of George Floyd, our nation has been having a reckoning with racial injustice and white supremacy, and our whole team has been working hard to educate folks about tangible solutions we can take to demilitarize our police and take the knee off the neck of Black America. 

On the other hand, my now official Republican opponent has been trying to stall and undo this progress. When President Trump had protesters outside the White House tear-gassed so that he could have a photo op in front of St. John's Episcopal Church, she said that was proof that Trump is the “body of Christ.” 

John -- Our team and our movement is leading the way on important issues like justice reform and police demilitarization. My Republican opponent and National Republicans have already started attacking me for my leadership on these issues, but I won’t back down. It’s too important, and 400 years later, Black Americans have waited far too long. 

But I need your help. Powering this campaign through the general election is going to take a grassroots effort that can stand up to these attacks, and get the real message out about our work to make America a truly just nation.
