Friends,
Today, I’ll be delivering my annual State of the City address to update Angelenos on our path forward.
We’ve shown we can do tough things when we confront challenges head on. Homelessness fell for the first time in years after we shattered the status quo. Homicides have dropped after we implemented a comprehensive approach to public safety. In the wake of the largest natural disaster our city has ever seen, we are leading one of the fastest recovery efforts in our state’s history.
Downward economic trends and additional costs mean that we cannot operate as business as usual. We must come together and unite as we prepare to welcome the world for the World Cup, the Olympic & Paralympic Games, and so much more.

Time after time, we’ve proven our strength when we come together and push for big, bold changes to how the city operates. I know we’ll rise to the challenge once again.
