Our new reportToxic Tradehighlights how trade deals with countries such as the US and Australia threaten to weaken UK pesticide standards.
If the UK Government bows to these countries’ demands in trade negotiations then there will be larger amounts of more toxic pesticides in UK food. Pesticides that have been banned for environmental reasons, such as bee-toxic neonicotinoids, could soon be re-authorised.
Please take 1 minute to email your MP and tell them to defend your health and environment from toxic trade.
Co-authored with Sustain and trade expert, Dr Emily Lydgate, the report has already been featured in The Telegraph and the Independent and has gone far and wide on social media. A huge thank you to everyone who has already shared it! If you would like to share or blog about it you can find graphics, text and a video here. Or click on your chosen platform below.
We will continue to campaign against any drop in pesticide standards via trade deals and hugely appreciate your support. If you feel able to please donate today to support our work. Thank you.
