** Risky Business: Lessons for Finance Professionals from AML Gaps at Swiss Bank Reyl
------------------------------------------------------------

Join Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Frederik Obermaier and Le Monde’s investigations lead Maxime Vaudano for a deep dive into how one of Switzerland’s elite private banks came under scrutiny for alleged gaps in its anti-money laundering efforts — and what the case reveals about the limits of AML enforcement in high-trust jurisdictions.

Based on leaked correspondence between Swiss regulators and Reyl Bank, this session will unpack how the institution maintained relationships with politically exposed persons and clients linked to corruption, despite mounting red flags. OCCRP journalists will walk through the investigation’s key findings, offering insight into the challenges of compliance, the opacity of private banking, and the institutional blind spots that still persist.
