It’s been almost three years since the Supreme Court robbed women of the constitutional right to an abortion. And the consequences of the Court’s decision have been absolutely stark, with 12 states imposing total bans and 29 other states severely restricting access.
As a result, women are being forced to flee to other states to obtain medically necessary abortion care—and some women have even died unnecessarily because they could not receive proper care when experiencing pregnancy complications.
Anti-choice forces are not satisfied with how much harm they’ve already caused. They’re actively plotting to expand their assault on women’s bodies with attempts to ban birth control, in vitro fertilization, gender-affirming care, and other vital reproductive health care.

Our teams are pushing to pass abortion rights ballot measures in more states, building on the seven state ballot measure fights we won on abortion rights in 2024. We are also continuing to rally bipartisan support for national legislation like the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would prohibit governmental restrictions on providing or accessing abortion services. And we are engaging in ambitious outreach efforts to galvanize support for pro-choice candidates at all levels of government who will fight to restore reproductive freedom.
We can reach these goals if the NOW community is all in on the fight, and our organizing teams have the resources they need.
