Hi Everyone!

Thank you all for your resistance efforts this past week! Around 3,000 people attended the "No Kings: Then or Now!" protest and march yesterday, and we are so grateful for everybody who showed up and spoke out. We thank the volunteers, musicians, speakers, and others who helped make the event go smoothly. We also thank all the coalition groups who planned and organized the event, including 50501 KY, Peaceful Bluegrass Resistance, KY 120 United-AFT, Gathering for Democracy, and Progress Kentucky.

    Join Peaceful Bluegrass Resistance for a protest at Mitch McConnell’s Local Office (771 Corporate Dr, Lexington, KY) from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. 

     
  • STATE: PUBLIC HEARING IN FRANKFORT RE: INVESTMENTS IN GAS - APRIL 21ST
    Join Kentuckians for the Commonwealthon Monday, April 21st as they attend the public hearing regarding risky investments in gas for Eastern Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) at 211 Sower Blvd in Frankfort, Ky. The hearing runs from from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. This is a hybrid in-person/virtual hearing. More details and RSVP on Mobilize

     
  • STATE: HOUSING NOW! RALLY - APRIL 22ND
    Join Kentuckians For The Commonwealth, VOCAL - KY, Street Voice Council, our homeless neighbors, and other partners from across Kentucky to hold a rally on Tuesday, April 22nd at Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza from noon to 2 p.m. to demand more housing - and to reject cuts and fines that make homelessness worse! More details and RSVP on Mobilize.

     
  • STATE: KY YOUNG DEMS FUNDRAISER - APRIL 23RD
    Join the Kentucky Young Democrats on Wednesday, April 23rd for a fundraiser to learn about the organization, ways to get involved, and how you can help sponsor members traveling to Philadelphia for the Young Democrats of America 2025 National Convention! The event will be at Blue Stallion Brewing Co (610 W 3rd St., Lexington, KY) from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. If you cannot make it to the event, you can donate on ActBlue

     
  • NATIONAL: RUSH HOUR PROTEST - APRIL 24TH
    Join Peaceful Bluegrass Resistance for a rush hour protest from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Reynolds Road. 

     
  • LOCAL: FAYETTE COUNTY REORG - APRIL 26TH
    Join the Fayette County Democratic Party as they organize and rebuild, electing new leadership, building its Executive Committee, and electing delegates for the State Convention. Any registered Democratic voter in Lexington/Fayette County can participate. The meeting will be at Tates Creek High School (1111 Centre Pkwy building 1a, Lexington, KY) on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m.) until 3 p.m. Click this link to sign up to participate in Reorg 2025.
     
  • SAVE THE DATE: MAY DAY EVENT - MAY 1ST
    We are in the planning stages for a May Day event on Thursday, May 1st. We will provide details when they are available.
     
  • SAVE THE DATE: ACLU-KY EVENT - MAY 18TH
    Join ACLU-KY for their event "How is the ACLU fighting back and fighting forward?" at the Lyric Theatre (300 E Third St, Lexington, KY) on Sunday, May 18th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
     
  • NATIONAL: ASK YOUR SENATORS TO VOTE NO ON THE SAVE ACT!
    Call Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul and ask them to vote NO on the SAVE Act (H.R. 22 and S. 128). A few weeks ago, the SAVE Act (H.R. 22) passed the House, and now it is going before the Senate. Learn more about the SAVE Act on the Indivisible website or visit the 5 Calls website for talking points and information.

     
  • NATIONAL: CALL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
    Call your members of Congress and let them know how you feel about topics that most concern you. The Indivisible website's section Take Action Now and the 5 Calls website provide up-to-date talking points and information.
