Dear Partners,

Applications are now open for our second Health Equity Academy in System Transformation Fellowship program ([link removed]) ! The fellowship program trains a corps of health equity advocates to participate in discussions and decisions about how health care is organized, delivered and paid for – and to push especially for Medicaid reforms that address inequities. This year's program will focus on three issues of particular importance during the COVID-19 pandemic:
* measuring health inequities and requiring improvement;
* using a community-based workforce; and
* enhancing supportive services for elders and people with disabilities

We will select 12-15 leaders from advocacy or non-profit organizations serving communities of color and other marginalized communities from across the country to participate in three half days of virtual training in July, and receive ongoing learning opportunities, strategic guidance, and technical support. Participants will gain formidable subject matter and advocacy skills to help them become stronger advocates for transforming our health care system to serve health equity at the local, state, and national levels. You can find more information on the Academy here ([link removed]) .

The deadline to apply is June 26, 2020 at noon EST. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Raven Gomez at [email protected] with any questions you may have about the application or application process.

You can preview the application questions here ([link removed]) . If there is anyone in your network who you feel would benefit from getting this training, please encourage them to apply! The Fellowship is best suited for mid to upper level health equity and health care policy advocates working at either non-profit or community organizations on the state level.

Thanks to the generous support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, expenses will be covered for Academy Fellows.

To your health,

Raven Gomez,
Partnerships Coordinator
