Last week, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the Trump administration must facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia—a Maryland father wrongly deported to a prison in El Salvador due to what Trump officials initially admitted was an “administrative error.”
But instead of following the Supreme Court’s ruling, the administration is digging in. Officials are now insisting that Abrego Garcia was “the right person sent to the right place” — despite the Court’s clear finding that his deportation was unlawful. Even more disturbing, Attorney General Pam Bondi flatly declared that Abrego Garcia is “not coming back to our country,” openly defying the Court’s authority.
This isn’t just about one man. It’s part of a broader, deeply troubling pattern: the Trump administration is ignoring court orders it doesn’t like, undermining the rule of law, and paving the way for more dangerous actions from this president.
Democrats like Ami Bera are working tirelessly in Congress to push back against this disgraceful conduct. As a member of the DCCC leadership team, he’s on the front lines fighting to retake the House majority in 2026 and restore accountability to our government.
