This week, at the Colorado Senate Education Committee, we sent a message: we will not stand by while Donald Trump and his allies try to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education.
We hosted fired staffers from the United States Department of Education, civil rights leaders, and Colorado's Commissioner of Education to examine the consequences of Trumps efforts to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education.
With significant cuts already underway — including the rollback of teacher-training grants and civil rights oversight — it couldn't be more important for Coloradans to know how this impacts them, their families, and their communities.
Trump’s reckless plan would gut resources for our public schools, strip away protections for students with disabilities, and silence civil rights oversight in classrooms across America.
