John, President Trump just launched a direct attack on nearly one million federal workers [1] – our neighbors, friends, and family members who keep our country running.
His executive order targets the American Federation of Government Employees, denying their collective bargaining rights and effectively declaring war on the union that represents nearly one million federal workers.
It’s a blatant attack on the workers who are the backbone of our public services – and the rights of ALL working Americans who value fair treatment, safe working conditions, and a voice in the decisions that affect our lives.

John, this has been a difficult time for federal workers – and for the millions of Americans who rely on the work they do to keep our food safe to eat, air travel safe, national parks open, and so much more.
Just look at this latest attack – Musk and Trump clearly don’t like that AFGE is standing up for their members against attempts to politicize the civil service, chaotically fire federal employees, and cut services to the American people.
Let’s be clear, John: this attack on federal workers is an attack on everything the government does for people like you and me. It is an attack on Social Security, on our national parks, and on our veterans.
It would strip federal employees of their bargaining rights, leaving them vulnerable to abuse and retaliation. But every worker deserves a voice on the job, especially those who provide essential day-to-day services for our friends, family and country.
This is a fight that will be won in the courts. But, John, we don’t have to sit around and wait for judges to recognize the legal rights of our federal workers.
