Last week, I went on KTLA to talk about why I’m running for Congress — and why it’s time for a new generation of leadership.

If you missed it, here’s the rundown: I’m running against my former boss, 15-term incumbent Brad Sherman. And I’m doing it because Congress shouldn’t be a retirement plan. It should be a place where we fight like hell for the future.

I’ve worked in our government. I’ve seen how decisions get made — or don’t. And I’ve seen how our party sometimes talks a big game about change, then defaults to the same playbook we used in 1996. That won’t cut it anymore, especially not in Trump’s America.

This race is about making sure the next generation has a say in Washington. It’s about young voters who are tired of watching climate change get worse, rights being taken away, and the economy only working for the rich while billionaires and MAGA extremists run the show. It’s about fighting back — not with platitudes, but with urgency and a plan.

I’m proud of how far we’ve come since our launch. But we’re going to need serious grassroots energy to take on a well-funded incumbent.
