Patriot,
As we spend time with our families and loves ones, please join me in reflecting on the countless blessings we've enjoyed this past year: our lives, our health, our families, and our liberties.
Throughout the year, Campaign for Liberty sounds the alarm about constant, ongoing assaults on your freedom, as well as the growing threats to our economic prosperity.
It can be frustrating, even downright depressing, to constantly fight in the political trenches against an institutional enemy with seemingly endless resources.
But we must always remember, as I once said in a presidential debate many years ago: We still have a lot of liberty left.
America’s churches stayed open through the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the War for Southern Independence, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Cold War, the Great Depression, and untold numbers of famines, pestilences and natural disasters of every kind.
Yet just five years ago, our places of worship were shut down – and too few Americans - resisted and refused these orders.
But today, people are celebrating Easter in record numbers.
For me, Easter is about hope when hope has run out. Today, and every day, I wish you all many blessings and faith to always believe there is hope.
Liberty is the power of every person to exert free will. It is our Creator's unconditional gift to us. It is the blessing from which all of our other blessings spring.
Easter reminds us we must incorporate the principles of liberty into the very fabric of our lives – into every personal choice we make. It reminds us to offer our eternal vigilance against threats to the foundational freedom that made America the country it is today.
America is still today the freest country in the world. Every generation must work to cherish, defend, and advance these sacred principles, or we will lose them.
I hope you have a peaceful weekend and are able to spend some time with your loved ones. Soon, we must return to the fight.
But today, rejoice in the gift of Easter, where love conquered death, and be reminded that life, love, and liberty triumph overall.
On behalf of my entire family, Happy Easter!
For liberty,
Ron Paul
