Friend —
On April 19,1775 the British suffered their first defeat of the
American Revolution. Contrary to populist fables, our Republic was not
born of resistance to “taxation without representation,” but was
centuries long in the making, going back to the 15th Century and the
work of Nicholas of Cusa and Joan of Arc, among others.
That Benjamin Franklin was conducting important experiments in
electricity while he was engaged as a spy and recruiter in Europe was
no coincidence, but the standard of what a citizen in a free republic
should become. He also was a staunch opponent of slavery, as were
Alexander Hamilton, Gouverneur Morris, and John Quincy Adams among
many others.
Sadly, most Americans, including most proponents of the “American
System” of economics, have no idea of what our revolution was about,
or how Alexander Hamilton, our first Treasury Secretary transformed
our nation into the leading industrial and agricultural producer on
the planet. The LaRouche Organization will take the opportunity of the
250th anniversary of the “Shot Heard Round the World” to begin a
year-long initiative to educate and inspire our fellow Americans to
rededicate themselves to the mission of our nation, as expressed in
our Declaration of Independence and Constitution with a series of
conferences, essays, podcasts, and historical tours. Join us on the
19th as we begin this amazing journey.
Join us at 2pm ET to discuss what YOU can do to
