Delaware’s got a lot of chickens — roughly 200 for every single person in
our small state. 🐔

But behind that fun fact is a serious truth: Poultry is a cornerstone of
our economy. Thousands of Delawareans depend on this industry, and right
now, its future is at risk.

When I sat down with Mike, a poultry farmer in Middletown, he shared his
real fears about what the next outbreak of the avian flu could mean. Not
just for his birds — but for his ability to keep his farm going.

So I introduced the SAVE Our Poultry Act — a bipartisan bill to invest in
the research on the disease so we can protect our farmers and flocks.

Because defending our food systems and our economy means protecting our
communities. And that starts with listening, acting, and delivering
results.
