Add your name to defend Black history

Ayanna Pressley for Congress

Donald Trump is trying to erase Black history. He will not succeed.

Trump’s recent executive order targeting Smithsonian museums for “improper ideology” is a hostile attack on our shared history. And it’s more than that — it’s an attack on the truth.

I rose on the House floor last week to speak out against Trump’s order, and I will continue to do everything in my power to vigorously oppose any attempt to censor our history. Today, will you add your name to join me in solidarity?

Add Your Name

Dictators try to shutter museums, ban books, censor history, and whitewash the truth. But we know that Black history is American history.

Despite centuries of bondage, redlining, pay disparities and other forms of injustice — we still rise.

Black brilliance exists in every corner of this nation — from the stage, to the court, to the classroom, to the halls of Congress. I want every single person — certainly every single child — who calls this nation home to walk into our Smithsonian museums, including our beautiful Blacksonian, and see our collective history on display.

It is through studying our history that we learn how to overcome the systems of oppression, the whims of petulant men thirsty for power, and the will of dictators.

My blackness is beautiful, and I will not let anyone take that away.

Join me to defend Black history — add your name to support telling the truth at our Smithsonian museums.

My team and I will keep you updated on new developments in this fight against Trump’s attacks on our history.

Thanks for all you do,

Ayanna
