Moments ago, Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland gave a press conference about his meeting with his constituent, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, in El Salvador.

Van Hollen said he told Kilmar that “millions of Americans understand that what is happening to him is a threat to their own constitutional rights...This is an issue for every American."

This came after Van Hollen refused to accept NO for an answer and was finally able to meet with Kilmar. Please forward this email to others to let them know.

Van Hollen put his safety at risk travelling to El Salvador. Last night he posted on social media, "I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return."

In his update tonight, the senator added that Kilmar told him he was traumatized during nearly three weeks inside the notorious El Salvadoran maximum security prison before being transferred to another detention facility – where he remains in isolation.

The fight to bring back Kilmar is the fight to ensure that ALL OF US cannot be whisked off the street and jailed without due process. It is the fight for America.
