| John, I was just on the Paternal podcast to talk about what it means to me to be a father and the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania.
I start my story with an incident of gun violence in my neighborhood of McKeesport. It’s what spurred me into action as a young person. I knew I had to do everything in my power to prevent what happened to my community from happening again, and make sure families of victims receive the support they need.
Now, as a father, my dedication to ending gun violence has taken on new meaning. While I’ve always been dedicated to public service, everything I do is now with my daughter and her future in mind.
Being a dad and the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania means every step I take is about doing right by my daughter and her generation. We owe it to our kids and grandkids to make things better than how they were for us.
It’s possible to end gun violence so that our communities are safe and no family has to go through what I witnessed in McKeesport. It’s possible to invest in public education and protect our environment. It’s possible to create a better future for the next generation, so they can thrive here in PA and beyond.
You can trust that I won’t lose sight of what matters. My focus will always be on delivering for Pennsylvania families, and in order to keep doing the work, I need the support of a strong grassroots coalition. That’s why I have to ask, John.
