EMET Congratulates Governor Mike Huckabee for His Senate Confirmation as Ambassador to Israel and for His Visit to the Western Wall

The Endowment for Middle East Truth, EMET, is overjoyed to see that the US Senate has voted to confirm Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas as our US Ambassador to Israel. Governor Huckabee is a staunch ally and supporter of Israel, who has visited Israel more than 100 times. He has received bipartisan support from the US Senate. Today, he has made his first visit as the US Ambassador to the Western Wall

EMET was delighted to have honored Governor Huckabee at our annual dinner in 2014. The newly minted Ambassador to Israel has taken over 10,000 people on trips to Israel, and has described Israel as “holy ground to Jews, Christians and Muslims.” He has also called the Palestinian movement, “a political tool to try to force land away from Israel” and refuses to recognize that “there is any such thing as a Palestinian.” Ambassador Huckabee also said that there are certain words he refuses to use. Says the newly-minted Ambassador, "There's no such thing as a settlement. They're communities. They're neighborhoods. They're cities. There's no such thing as an occupation."

Ambassador Huckabee has also stated that Hamas is “not capable of having an honorable negotiation.”

These, of course, are all sentiments that EMET is in total agreement with. Unfortunately, any Iranian controlled proxy organization is determined to obliterate the state of Israel, which has been spoon-fed to their children in their lessons in their UNRWA controlled schools, where many of their teachers are also members of Hamas.

Says Sarah Stern, Founder and President of EMET, “Today, we were particularly thrilled to see that Ambassador Huckabee made it his very first order of business to visit the Western Wall, and to plant a note from President Trump into a crevice in the Wall. The Wall is the last standing remnant of the Temple in Jerusalem, destroyed by the Romans more than 2000 years ago. Our return to Zion, after 2,000 years of tumultuous and at times, agonizing history, has given us the self-esteem as well as the gravitational force of our national identities. We are extraordinarily grateful to President Trump and Ambassador Mike Huckabee for their biblical based values and for the courage of their convictions.”

EMET is a think tank and foreign policy institute specializing in the Middle East.
