If we don’t make bold structural, transformative change a priority, then I’m not sure how we get out of this moment.

The answer is beyond resisting Trump.

It involves Democrats putting forth a vision for the future.

And as long as we continue to lack a real vision, we’re going to continue to find ourselves in this situation.

So this is a moment of accountability. It’s a moment of reckoning. And as bad as this moment is, I draw hope and inspiration from what we can make possible coming out of this moment.

We are so far down, in terms of the machinations of government and what we think good government ought to look like, that this is an opportunity to reimagine what’s possible and to be innovative — to critically think about how we can get out of this in a way that is genuinely reflective of our values and principles.
