# Over half of gender-affirming care providers surveyed report increased demand for care

Our
new study ([link removed])
surveyed gender-affirming care providers who work primarily in states without laws restricting or banning the care for youth. Results show that over half reported the demand for gender-affirming care from adults (54%) and youth (55%) at their practice had increased due to recent legislation limiting access to care.

While nearly half (47%) of the respondents sought to become more visible as gender-affirming care providers in response to the legislation, approximately 80% reported heightened levels of stress, over three-quarters experienced increased anxiety (77%), and more than half noted elevated depression (53%).

About one-quarter of providers had been personally threatened online (26%), and nearly one-third said their workplace had received threats related to their provision of gender-affirming care (29%).

# Accepting applications for the Gleason/Kettel Summer Law Fellowship

The Williams Institute awards the
Gleason/Kettel Summer Law Fellowship ([link removed])
to a law student or recent law school graduate who will receive a stipend of up to $6,000 to work in the field of sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy.

The Gleason/Kettel Summer Law Fellowship is committed to inspiring law students to pursue careers in sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy and to identifying the next generation of leaders committed to promoting rights and equity for the LGBT community. Through the fellowship, students gain experience and insight into the field and provide much-needed support to various organizations and scholars. Fellows must spend at least ten weeks at their placements.
