Stand Your Ground laws are deadly, yet tomorrow lawmakers in the Ohio House are choosing to make it a priority. These laws are dangerous for multiple reasons: they're associated with the increase of homicides, they encourage the escalation of violence, and they have an undeniable disproportionate impact on communities of color. 

That's why we're counting on you to join us in supporting our partners like the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence and Amnesty International to fight against the Stand Your Ground law House Bill 381 that Ohio lawmakers are trying to push forward tomorrow morning.

If you agree and are in this fight with us, here are the things you could do right now to join us:

1. Call Chairman Lang (OH residents) and ask the Chairman to reject House Bill 381 and prevent it from moving forward in his committee.
2. Send an email with one click (OH residents)
3. Submit testimony as an OH resident to [email protected] about why these Stand Your Ground laws should end.
4. Spread the word on social media that gun violence poses a serious risk to the public safety and human rights of Ohio residents.
5. Write a letter to the editor shaming OH leg for trying to pass SYG again and calling on the Speaker of the House to stop it from coming to a vote.

This is urgent – if we take action against these laws now, we could protect hundreds of innocent lives. We hope we can count on you for support!
