On April 11, multiple outlets broke news that President Trump’s proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget – which is expected to be released in the very near future – entirely defunds Head Start and Early Head Start, a move that would be catastrophic for the millions of Americans who rely on it.
This proposed threat to such programs is beyond alarming. However, the President’s budget is solely a proposal – and only members of Congress have the power to determine funding levels for such programs, like Head Start. Contact your Congressional leaders, and urge them to protect Head Start in Congress’ final federal budget. |
