On April 25th and 26th, riders, workers and transit supporters from across the country will meet in Pittsburgh--and YOU are invited!
With funding cuts threatening our service like never before, it's never been more important to strengthen our movement. This is an opportunity to build skill, network, and strengthen our movements together, alongside advocates from Pittsburgh and beyond--all while having fun!
We will have workshops on telling a compelling transit story to elected leaders and using it to win your demands; transit worker organizing and building common cause with riders; taking transit service demands into a state funding fight; galvanizing municipal elected officials to support transit riders with land use and infrastructure demands… and more!
Topics and activities will be relevant to transit organizers at all levels and all regions.
Here's what you can expect at Spring Training:

ACTION ALERT🚨🚨🚨SOS! Stop the cuts! Stop the fare hikes! It's time to rally to Save Our Service!! and win transit funding to move us all!!
Devastating cuts of up to 40% of our bus and T service and 62% of ACCESS services have been proposed to take effect in Allegheny County if the Pennsylvania state legislature fails to pass new funding for transit. The impact would be staggering. But riders, transit workers and Allegheny County elected officials are standing together to say, “NOT ON OUR WATCH!”
On the first day of Pittsburgh Regional Transit's public hearings, 4/29, join transit riders, workers, County Executive Sara Innamorato, and Pittsburgh Regional Transit CEO Katherine Kelleman to show that we are united in the fight for state funding, for the transit service we deserve!

Be the first to read their answers How Will Pittsburgh Mayoral Candidates Improve Transit Access?
Pittsburghers for Public Transit held a Mayoral Forum on April 9th (which was attended by all candidates except Corey O’Connor) and we issued a short two-question questionnaire for written responses (which all answered except Tony Moreno).
Check the blog to learn whether each candidate agreed with our #VoteTransit 25/25/25 Goal to build 25 miles of new sidewalks, 25 new bus shelters, and 25% deeply affordible housing near good transit!
