UNITED E-News April 2025 - Let Activism Blossom!

Dear Network,

we have just left behind our UNITED Against Racism Campaign, concluded by an inspiring ACTIVIST LIVESTREAM featuring Alba Hernandez from Feminist Collective of Romani Gender Experts and Shane Oโ€™Curry from INAR โ€“ Irish Network Against Racism that we thank once again for the great contribution ๐Ÿ™Œ

It was a deep and insightful conversation that allowed us to show different perspectives and feelings regarding the current challenges faced by anti racist activists, starting from the incorrect association between anti racism and cancel culture that has become increasingly popular, damaging decades of work by intoxicating public discourse.

If you have missed it you can enjoy it on our Instagram account and know more about it by consulting the dedicated section on our website

Applications open for our CPG โ€“ Campaign Preparatory Group for World Refugee Day 2025

In preparation for World Refugee Day on June 20, 2025, our coalition is launching a new call to join the Campaign Preparatory Group (CPG), a volunteer-driven initiative to amplify voices against systemic oppression and mobilize communities toward meaningful action.
World Refugee Day serves as a critical platform to highlight the intersection of policy, human rights, and solidarity. Like every year we will focus on exposing the Fatal Policies of Fortress Europe, a framework that has normalized border violence and exclusionary asylum practices. By joining this effort, volunteers will contribute to a global movement that challenges dehumanizing narratives and advocates for restorative justice.

REFUGIN 3rd Knowledge Consolidation Event in Budapest

The 3rd KCE Budapest event, held from April 8th to 10th, 2025 at the Benczรบr Hotel in Budapest, brought together NGO practitioners and educational professionals dedicated to supporting young people in refugee-like situations. Organized by us with support from the REFUGIN Consortium, the gathering emphasized not only professional development but also the deeply human challenges and connections at the heart of their work.
The event fostered a welcoming and inclusive environment from the outset, with participants encouraged to share personal stories and experiences. This approach underscored the importance of empathy and mutual understanding in addressing the complex realities faced by refugee youth.
Workshops and sessions were designed to go beyond technical skills, focusing on building trust and resilience among both practitioners and the young people they serve. Activities encouraged self-reflection, emotional awareness, and the sharing of best practices for creating safe, supportive spaces.
The 3rd KCE Budapest event was more than a professional conferenceโ€”it was a space where the human stories behind refugee support work were honored and uplifted. By centering the lived experiences of both practitioners and the young people they serve, the event reinforced the essential role of empathy, connection, and shared humanity in building a more inclusive future, so thanks to all the people who made it possible.
