Dear John,
The House and Senate recently agreed on budget instructions, but now comes the hard part – negotiating funding levels and hammering out the bills to fund the federal government. Now Congress has the chance to defund abortion providers, but they need to hear from you!
Use the form on this page to send a message to your congressional delegation telling them that you object to your tax dollars being spent to prop up big abortion and to pay for gender transition procedures!
Big abortion receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars a year to subsidize and prop up their abortion-centered business model. (Planned Parenthood alone reported receiving nearly $700 million of your tax dollars in their latest annual report.) It’s no secret that when the abortion industry is publicly funded, more abortions occur. This not only promotes elective abortion but also implicates taxpayers like you, who are forced to participate in funding abortions indirectly, even if they have a conscientious objection.
Abortion is an abhorrent practice that we have been publicly funding for far too long. We should not be financially supporting abortion or its providers with our tax dollars.
Another harmful practice that should not be taxpayer-funded is gender transition procedures. Experimental hormonal and surgical interventions for individuals experiencing distress related to their sex can cause significant harm, including sterilization and life-long regret. These interventions do not qualify as genuine medical care. Furthermore, there is no high-quality evidence of long-term mental health benefits from such interventions.
Our tax dollars should not be used to subsidize ending human life and inflicting actual, life-long harm on individuals experiencing distress related to their sex. As Congress looks to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, it’s high time that we end taxpayer funding of abortion providers and gender transition procedures.
Send a message to your members of Congress now, encouraging them to defund abortion providers and gender transition procedures in reconciliation!
Sincerely,
Your Friends at FRC Action
