There’s a lot of uncertainty right now about how actions at the federal level affect us here in VA-10. That’s why I’ve made it a priority to be everywhere in the communities I represent so I can answer questions directly and hear from my constituents firsthand.
And JOhn, this is what I told folks in Rappahannock: make sure you are prepared for how budget cuts at the federal level may affect our community. That includes SNAP benefits, education funding, Medicaid, and more.
The majority in Congress has chosen to pursue these cuts, but I’m doing everything I can in Congress to prevent and mitigate any harmful impacts falling upon Northern Virginia, and I am committed to fighting for every single one of my constituents – regardless of party affiliation.
I’d like to thank the folks who have come out to my recent town halls and those of you who took a moment to fill out the survey I sent earlier this week. Your voice is incredibly important, and your stories matter – it's people like you staying engaged and speaking up that have powered my work to help introduce legislation, write letters, reinstate key staff members and prevent even more harmful decisions from being made at the federal level.
My door is always open for Republicans to reach out and work with me, because what drives me is advocating for my constituents and telling their stories.
