John,
Last week, the House passed the so-called “SAVE Act,” a dangerous voter suppression bill that puts up even more barriers for Americans trying to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
House Republicans are attempting to make it even harder for eligible American voters – including our service members overseas and married women who changed their last name – to cast their ballots!
Let’s be clear: noncitizens are already prohibited from voting in federal elections, and this bill will only further restrict access to the ballot and silence the voices of millions of eligible voters.
The SAVE Act isn’t about protecting our elections – it’s about disenfranchising American voters and giving Republicans an edge as they work to hold onto their razor-thin House majority in the midterms.
I voted ‘NO’ because I refuse to stand by while extreme Republicans play political games with our democracy. Will you stand with me and add your name to our growing list of supporters so we can show undeniable grassroots momentum?
